20CrMo5 — Cr-Mo case-hardening steel. Good hardenability to 35 mm. For medium-size gears, shafts and case-hardened fasteners where 16MnCr5 lacks depth.
20CrMo5 per EN 10084 (1.7264). Cr-Mo addition gives better hardenability than 16MnCr5 and 20MnCr5 without Ni. Case depth to 35 mm. After carburising: case HRC 59-63, core Rm 950-1150 MPa. Standard for medium-duty gears, pinion shafts and case-hardened studs in automotive and industrial gearboxes.
