34CrMo4 — Cr-Mo steel used worldwide for seamless gas cylinders (EN 1964) and high-pressure tubes. Rm 900-1100 MPa after Q+T.
34CrMo4 per EN 10083-3 (1.7220) and EN 1964 (seamless gas cylinders). Very similar to 42CrMo4 but slightly lower C gives better weldability and slightly higher toughness. THE standard steel for seamless high-pressure gas cylinders (oxygen, acetylene, nitrogen, CO2, LPG) per ISO 9809-1/EN 1964. Also used for high-pressure hydraulic cylinders, gun barrels and power take-off shafts.
