2618-T651 -- Al-Cu-Mg-Ni-Fe alloy retaining useful strength to 200 C. For aircraft engine pistons, compressor impellers, structural forgings and rocket components requiring aluminium strength at elevated temperature.
EN AW-2618 (AlCu2Mg1.5Ni) per EN 573-3. Cu + Mg + Ni + Fe combination gives retention of Rm ~300 MPa at 200 C (vs ~100 MPa for 2024 at 200 C) -- making 2618 the standard elevated-temperature aluminium alloy for aero engine applications. Standard for piston forgings for high-performance aircraft and Formula 1 engines, compressor impeller forgings, intake manifolds and aircraft nose cones.
