PA46 / Stanyl (Polyamide 46)

PA46 (Stanyl) — highest-melting-point standard polyamide. HDT 290 C (GF30). Maintains stiffness at 180 C where PA66 softens. For automotive transmission sensors, VVT components and gears operating at continuous 160 C.

Description

PA46 (Polyamide 46 / Stanyl) per ISO 1874. Regular symmetric 4,6 chain gives 35% higher crystallinity than PA66 — resulting in HDT 290 C (GF30) vs 255 C for PA66 GF30, and strength retained to 180 C where PA66 GF30 has reduced significantly. Standard for automotive variable valve timing (VVT) chain guides, oil pan sensors, EGR components and gears exposed to continuous oil at 160 C.
