Description

PAI (Polyamide-imide) per ASTM D5204, trade name Torlon (Solvay). Imide + amide bond combination gives the best balance of strength, stiffness, wear resistance and chemical resistance of thermoplastics. Rm 190 MPa — highest of all standard engineering thermoplastics. Service to 260 C. Outstanding tribological properties especially Torlon 4301 (graphite-filled). Standard for aerospace flap track bushings, dry gas compressor valve plates, ball bearing cages and chemical pump wear rings.
