55Cr3 -- basic Cr spring steel. Rm 1200-1600 MPa Q+T, better hardenability than 55Si7. For medium-duty coil springs, torsion bars and suspension springs in sections where 55Si7 hardenability is insufficient.
55Cr3 (EN 1.7176) per EN 10089. Cr (0.70-1.00%) gives better hardenability than 55Si7 (Si only) -- through-hardening to 35 mm sections. Standard for automotive and industrial coil springs, stabilizer bars and torsion springs in medium sections.
